Binky & the Brain is a supply-chain services firm for specialty food and beverage. We do the sourcing, the data, and the operational work that lets brands scale — first for the companies we own, and for a select few beyond them.

What we believe

Almost everything about a product — its cost, its consistency, whether it shows up at all — is settled long before it reaches a shelf, in the tangle of decisions that carry it from a farm or a factory to a customer. That layer is mostly invisible, and it's where we've chosen to work. We're curious about how things are actually made, and we think the people who make them well are worth backing.

How we work

We learned the shape of this business the hard way, and three principles came through it: reduce complexity before scaling it, treat every supplier as a partner rather than a line to be squeezed, and find the experts who already know how to make the thing well. What comes out the other side is a supply chain that fewer hands can break.

Our firm

We run our own portfolio of food and beverage companies, and everything we offer as a service we've first run inside them. We take on a small number of outside engagements where the fit is right — and we invest where we can also operate, because for us the work and the ownership have never been separate.
